Artist Statement: Color plays an important role - either as inspiration or as material - for Prechtl’s works. An ever growing collection of color impressions is applied to wood or textiles through painting, printing or dyeing. In dialogue with the material’s grain or texture it brings out vivid and subtle characteristics of the colors. The derived unique color palette is the foundation for her works - where every piece is a mixture of intention and chance.
