Joo Hyung Park - Hallow Confluence Necklace

Wearing Red: Ignite the Fire

$1,545.00

Artist Statement: Like paints flowing down on a canvas, Parks carves the wood with her chisels to make the grain patterns wave more vigorously. By carving once or twice to take away the excess wood, wood grains begin to dance to the rhythm to form new patterns on the wood. She continues to carve the remainder with hopes that it could form like a winding ribbon as if it is moving. The wood tries to keep the natural line it is born with but does not impose on her. The precious grain patterns, accumulated gradually over a long period of time, adapt to follow the flow of Park’s hands.

Materials: Wenge Wood, Ottchil, Sterling Silver
